Nsawam Police identifies the body of accident driver

Nsawam (E/R), Sept 29, GNA – The Nsawam division of the Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU) of the Ghana Police Service on Wednesday identified the body of the driver of a Mitsubishi pick-up involved in accident as Alex Amo.

The deceased, 38, died on the spot when his vehicle collided with an articulated truck loaded with cement at Ntoaso near Nsawam on Tuesday.

Briefing the Ghana News Agency at the Nsawam Police Stationn on Wednesday, DSP Samuel Ntosoh, Commander of the Nsawam MTTU, said at about 1700 hours the late Amo was driving a company vehicle with the inscription ‘S.R.G Industries Limited, Tema’ on it.

He said the deceased was travelling from Kumasi to Accra and was on a high speed to overtake three cars ahead of him. In the process he collided with the on-coming articulator truck.

DSP Ntosoh said Amo’s body had been deposited at Nsawam Government Hospital while Isaka Musa, the driver of the articulator truck was helping the Police in their investigations.
