The Agona Nsaba Traditional Council has disassociated itself from the statement made against the Member of Parliament of Agona East, Mrs Queenster Pokuaa Sawyer by an NDC activist over sitting of Community SHS at Agona Duakwa in the Central region.
According to the Council, Mr Emanuel Kojo Amoakwah, the NDC activist and a Cadre was said to have described the MP as an “arrogant and disrespectful” to the Chiefs of Agona Nsaba.
Nana Kofi Yeboah XIII, Acting President of the Council made this known at a press briefing at Agona Nsaba.
There is controversy over the sitting of the Community SHS in the Agona East.
The Project was to be sited at Agona Duakwa but some group of people in the area wanted it to be sited at Namawura in the same district.
Nana Kofi Yeboah said the NDC activist did not seek the consent of the Nsaba Chiefs before coming out with the statement.
The Acting President said it was unpalatable for Mr Amoakwah to drag the names of “the Chiefs of Nsaba and Traditional Council into disrepute”.
He said the chiefs of Nsaba Traditional Council had no malice against sitting the project at Duakwa.
Nana Kofi Yeboah said “there is no bad blood between the Chiefs and elders of Nsaba Traditional Council and the MP”.
He said the chiefs of the Council would advise themselves if Mr Amoakwah proved adamant towards clearing of their names.
Nana Kofi Agyekum, Adontenhene of Nsaba Traditional Council, said the chiefs would not sit down unconcerned for some NDC activists in the area to malign them in the name of politics.
