NRC to hand over remains of exhumed bodies

Accra April 26, GNA – The National Reconciliation Commission (NRC) would on Thursday April 29, 2004 hand over the remains of the exhumed bodies of eight persons executed in 1986 to their respective families. The persons are Godwin Mawuli Dra Goka; Yaw Brefo-Berko; Kyeremeh Gyan; Samuel Boamah Payin; Samuel Charles Aforo; Richard Charles Koomson; George Badame Doog and Brimah Kankani.

A release from the Commission signed by Mr Mohammed Affum, Acting Director of Public Affairs, said the presentation ceremony would take place at the Old Parliament House in Accra at 1530 hours.

It said the occasion would be marked by inter-religious ceremony to be officiated by Bishop Charles Palmer-Buckle, Catholic Bishop of Koforidua and Mauvi Wahab Adam, Ameer and Missionary in charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission in Ghana, who are both Commissioners of the NRC.
