NRC Doctored Witness’ Testimony – Aryeh

The NDC’s general secretary has accused the reconciliation commission of coercing the lawyer who collapsed and died whilst giving testimony to implicate former President Rawlings.

NDC General Secretary, Dr. Josiah Aryeh has accused the National Reconciliation Commission of doctoring portions of the statement filed by the late Joseph Kojo Ampah.

Joseph Ampah collapsed and died testifying before the commission’s panel. According to Dr Nii Aryeh, the initial statement submitted by the late Ampah which was typed did not implicate the former president. But an additional hand written statement purported to have been filed by the deceased was manipulated to embarrass the former president.

Speaking to JOY News Dr. Ayerh questioned why a learned lawyer like Mr Ampah did not sign a statement he was said to have presented to the reconciliation commission.

The NRC’s executive secretary, Dr. Ken Attefuah has described the allegations as unfair and says that he is disappointed by Dr. Aryeh’s statement.

Dr. Attafuah showed JOYNEWS a copy of the statement made and signed by Mr. Ampah to the commission, which Dr Aryeh alleged was not signed. According to Dr. Attafuah, there is no way a member of the commission can manipulate statements.
