NPP’s Running Mate Slot – Boniface Out

Alhaji Boniface Abubakar, the Minister of Works, Water Resource and Housing’s aim of becoming the running mate of NPP’s presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo seems to have come unstuck. Boniface, one of the people eager to partner the Nana akufo-Addo, after months of intense struggling and lobbying, according to a very reliable source close to the Akufo-Addo campaign teem, “knows he is out…He knows, but it is the media which is maybe picking him for their running mate.”

Boniface has enjoyed a lot of media publicity and on any platform provided him, he has not hidden his intention to be the NPP’s running mate subsequently to become the country’s Vice President if the NPP retains power. The source did not dispute the many qualities of Alhaji Boniface but said, “We are concentrating on two for now.” When it comes to money, The Accra Daily Mail’s (ADM) newspaper investigations reveal that Alhaji Boniface has outspent his rivals.

Though the names of the two front runners were not mentioned by the source, he said, “It won’t be an ‘outsider’”. According to the source Nana Akufo-Addo has already concluded his consultations and checks on the two personalities for the running mate position, and he seems to have finally settled on one.

“For the one he has selected, I don’t know whether he has done his checks and consultations well”, the source said. The Minister for Women and Children affairs, Hajia Alima Mahama, according to the source still remains high on the consideration of the presidential candidate but said the source, “Alhaji Jawula may pull a surprise. ” When he was pressed to confirm whether the shortlist had been whittled down to those two, he said, “I cannot tell you.”
