NPP’s ‘one district one factory’ is a complete waste of time, money – Former NDC Chairman

The former regional chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Lawyer John Owusu Agyeman has prognosticated that the current ruling party New Patriotic Party (NPP) one district one factory initiative was a waste of time and money.

The NDC stalwart was speaking a radio show “Ghana on the road” hosted by Henry Lord on Metro FM a station in Sunyani when he made his assertion.

According to Mr. Agyeman, during Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s reign as Prime Minister of Ghana, many factories were built but when the NPP came into power they abandoned all the factories in the bush.

He further revealed that Jerry John Rawlings thought it wise to sell some of these abandoned factories.

He urged Ghanaians to ignore the governing NPP’s one district, one factory policy promise because during the golden age of business they could have implemented the policy but failed to do so.

He believed that the NPP had ruined the industrialized economy of the country that Dr. Kwame Nkrumah had set up.
