NPP youth in U/E declares support for Akufo-Addo

A youth group of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper East Region called “Dazota Youth Group” has at a Press Conference in Bolgataga on Saturday declared their unflinching support to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, one of the aspiring flagbearers of the Party.

According to the youth, apart from the fact that Nana Addo , the 2012 flagbearer, had been tried and tested, he was the most popular, marketable, experienced and above all peace loving politician in the fourth republic as far politics in Ghana was concerned.

Mr George Asukuga, the Secretary of the Group said the 2012 flagbearer, when given the mandate to lead the party again, would help capture power in the 2016 election since he had already marketed himself very well than all the other aspiring flagbearers.

“Secondly he is a visionary leader. His policies such as the SHS , which the NDC and President John Mahama said during the 2012 campaign that it was not feasible in Africa , only to make a “U turn ” within a year after making the claim, to now say that they would Implement the policy in 2015”.

The group called on the delegates for the supper national delegates conference scheduled to take place tomorrow to vote massively for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to enable the party to wrest power from the NDC.

Mr Robert Ajene, a member of the Council of Elders of the party appealed to party members to endeavour to settle the petty squabbles within the party, and urged the delegates to work towards ensuring that the party wins both the Presidential and Parliamentary election, particularly in the Region.
