NPP would be unfair to Bawumia if he is not given another chance as Flagbearer for 2028 – Bono East Regional Chair asserts

Mr. Ibrahim Bukari Baba popularly known as “IB The Game Changer”, Bono East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has asserted that, the party would be unfair to the former Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia if he is replaced or not given another opportunity to become Flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.

According to him, Dr. Bawumia has proven himself as a very competent, consistent and experienced Politician who when given the opportunity to rule Ghana could change the fortunes of our country and make it a better place; therefore the NPP has a duty to present the former Vice President to the electorates to be voted into power come 2028.

Speaking in an interview with the Media at the sidelines of DMB’s Campaign in Techiman South Constituency where the Team ended a 4-day tour of the Bono East Region, Chairman IB said the NPP has a history of repeating Flagbearers until they win general elections and become Presidents citing the instances of former Presidents John Agyekum Kuffour and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo; therefore Dr. Bawumia’s case should not be different.

He continued that, he remains the Bono East Regional NPP Chairman, a Father for all who welcomes all the five (5) candidates to campaign, but in all sincerity he believes Dr. Bawumia stands tall amongst his competitors and the party’s quest to recapture power from the NDC in 2028 would be easier if the former Vice President is elected to lead.

He charged NPP delegates not to be swayed by financial or material influences from other Flagbearer aspirants but be guided by history and vote massively for Dr. Bawumia during the 31st January, 2026 Presidential primaries as future generations and Ghanaians in general will not forgive them if they fail to present a candidate who can easily wrestle power from the ruling National Democratic Congress who have already failed in their governance.
