NPP will provide $1m for Constituency development – Bawumia

The vice presidential candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has restated that an NPP government will offer one million dollars every year to the various constituencies for infrastructural developments.

The vice presidential candidate of NPP said this promise is non negotiable and will be delivered when the party takes over the reigns of governance in 2017, pledging to restore the economy that will create jobs for Ghanaians.

Dr. Bawumia made this known during the party’s manifesto launch on Sunday in Accra.

According to him, they will ensure that the rural areas are considered in these developments.

“We are going to change this economy, we are bringing a new economy that is going to create jobs for everybody, jobs for everybody, an industrialisation programme that is going to make One-district-one factory, we are going to make sure that the rural areas are considered in the development. We are going to include every rural area, and we are not going to leave money for the development budget for them to steal it here in Accra, every constituency from 2017 budget will get one million dollars for developments, every constituency, every year, 40 billion old Ghana cedis, then we will see developments in the country progressing,” he pledged.

He lashed out at the Mahama-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) government for deceiving Ghanaians by saying he will restore teacher trainee’s allowances.

Dr. Bawumia indicated that the President’s statement would be treated with contempt.

“We are going to restore teacher and nursing training allowances in full, what John Mahama is doing is 419 propaganda because of the election he says he wants to restore them, we do not believe him and we will treat what he says with the contempt it deserves, when we go we will vote against him,” he stated.

He encouraged the electorate to vote massively for the NPP during the December polls to change the fortunes of the country.

“Vote for Nana Addo who is credible, honest and incorruptible,” he urged.
