NPP vigilante groups became ‘monsters’ after party’s victory – Deputy Minister

After taking political power from the National Democratic Congress (NDC), members of Delta Force, and Invincible Forces both vigilante groups in the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) have different mindset and are now demanding jobs.

They have became what Major (rtd) Derrick Oduro described as ‘monsters’ and trying to blackmail the party’s leadership in the name of looking for jobs which is a total deviation from the terms of agreement they had with the party

“When they were doing the campaign, their aims were different from what we are seeing now “, NPP Member of Parliament (MP) for Nkronza North and Deputy Minister of Defense observed.

“Their aim was to campaign and win political power for us”, Major (rtd) Derrick Oduro revealed on Kumasi-based Ultimate FM’s morning show.

“But now their aim and bearings have changed and are looking for jobs” adding he as a Deputy Minister of Defense does not recognize their presence in the party.

“To me and personally we have one force which the Constitution has mandated Ghana to have; Armed Forces and there should not be any other force”, Major (Rtd) Derrick Oduro pointed out.

Both Delta Force and Invincible Forces across the country are putting pressure on the government to secure them jobs after locking out offices of state institutions in protest.

The Deputy Minister, has therefore warned members against their unscrupulous activities threatening they will be dealt with accordingly if they dare carry their threat to cause any mayhem in the country.
