NPP to win three out of five newly created constituencies in Brong Ahafo

Mr. Alfred Ofori Annye, Brong Ahafo Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), on Wednesday said the party was poised to win at least three out of the five newly created constituencies in the region.

The newly created constituencies are Dormaa East, Berekum West, Banda Ahenkro, Prang and Kajaji.

Mr. Annye told the Ghana News Agency in Sunyani that the NPP would win the Berekum West, Dormaa East and Banda Ahenkro, newly created constituencies.

He explained that the party was not against the creation of 45 more constituencies in the country, but its concern was the period and time during which they were created with barely two months to the December 7 polls.

Mr. Annye said the NPP was faced with the challenges of electing constituency executives and establishing offices in all the five constituencies with only two months to the election.

He noted that the party had only three days to open nominations, and set October 14 for the primaries after completion of vetting of nominees.
