NPP To Win 22 Out Of 24 Seats In B/A

Space FM, Sunyani – The Brong-Ahafo Regional NPP Chairman,Mr. Kwasi Adu Gyan, has predicted that the party would capture 22 out of the 24 parliamentary seats in the region in the 2008 paliamentary election.

He said the party would form polling station groups to serve as foot soldiers, who would embark on house-to-house campaign and explain the laudable policies of the government to woo more people towards a landslide victory next year.

Speaking at Atrensu in Techiman during the election of the party’s paliamemtary candidate for the Techiman North Constituency, Mr. Gyan urged party members to unite and address problems facing them to enable the party to win. Professor Christopher Ameyaw-Akumfi, Minister of Ports, Harbours and Railways was elected to contest the seat for the party.

The professor polled 77 ballots out of 80 valid votes to beat his only contender, Mr. Isaac Kwame Antwi-Bosiako, Headmaster of Techiman Senior Secondary School, who got three votes. The election was supervised by officials of the Electoral Commission.
