“NPP thugs” storm NADMO office; incident resolved peacefully

Some suspected “NPP thugs” on Friday besieged the offices of the National Disaster Management Organization or NADMO, coordinator of the state-run relief agency has said.

The men are said to have invaded the offices on suspicion that NADMO was keeping ballot papers.

Mr Kofi Porturphy told Joy News’ Manasseh Azure Awuni “our office have been besieged by thugs of the NPP [shouting] all die be die, today they’ll burn down our offices, they’ll kill me like they killed the Ya Na.”

He claimed some bodyguards of former Finance Minister during the Kufuor administration, Mr Yaw Osafo Maafo, barricaded the entrance to the office with vehicles.

“Fuseini and Alhassan, the two bodyguards of Osafo Maafo, they barricaded our entrance with pick-ups and Land Cruisers. I drove here through them and said, look, we haven’t done anything. Are you going to kill me? They said yes! I’ll die.”

According to him, although the police were called in to handle the situation, no one was arrested, rather “they told them to go with their cars.’
