NPP suspends Afoko’s spokesperson

Nana Yaw Osei, the spokesperson of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) embattled national chairman Paul Afoko, has been suspended.

Confirming the development, the Ashanti regional secretary of the NPP Sam Pyne said Osei has been referred to the national disciplinary committee at the party’s headquarters.

In all, he said nine people have been suspended for allegedly instigating party supporters to demonstrate against the suspension of Afoko for allegedly working against the party.

Speaking on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.3 FM, Monday, Osei said he is yet to receive any official communication about the decision.

He dispelled allegations that he instigated the demonstration against Afoko’s suspension.

“There’s no iota of truth in those allegations. I have never met any group to demonstrate. They can’t suspend me because they have not written to me to inform me of my charges per Article 3 F (2),” he argued.

“I won’t glorify it. They can do their worst. They can dismiss me if they want,” Osei called the bluff of the executives. “I won’t waste my time on them.”
