NPP sure to retain Adansi-Asokwa seat

Asokwa (Ash), May 24, GNA – Mr Kwabena Ameyaw, Chairman of the Adansi-Asokwa constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Adansi East District, has made it clear that there was no way the National Democratic Congress (NDC) could wrest the seat from the NPP in the December elections.

He said with the coming into power of the NPP, the people in the constituency had had a fair share of their projects, which were denied them in the past.

“That is why supporters of the NPP in the constituency have re-elected Mr Kobina Tahir Hammond, the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) and Deputy Minister of Energy to continue with his good works”. Mr Ameyaw was speaking to the Ghana News Agency at the weekend on the chances of the NPP in the constituency in the December polls at Asokwa.

He said through the efforts of Mr Hammond, the people in the constituency had benefited from different projects, which had improved their well-being.

The Constituency Chairman mentioned electricity, schools, health posts and others as some of the facilities that had been provided to some of the communities in the constituency.

Mr Ameyaw said looking at the good work the NPP government was doing, he saw no way any party could unseat it in the forthcoming elections and asked the other parties not to contest the parliamentary seat in the constituency since they would lose miserably.

On the relationship between parties in the constituency, he said it was very cordial since they met to discuss issues that could lead to peace before, during and after the elections.

Mr Ameyaw appealed to supporters of the NPP to comport themselves during their campaigns and use decent language so as not to inflame passions and enjoined supporters of the other parties to join the NPP, since it was open to all.
