NPP ‘supporters’ storm Tema Harbour to ‘take control’

Some individuals, believed to be members of the ruling New Patriotic Party, have stormed the Tema Harbour and are demanding to be given control of some key installations of the facility.

The errant supporters are demanding that all national security operatives manning the Golden Jubilee terminal, Reefer and Atlas yards be withdrawn for them to take over.

Starr News sources at the port say the supporters have been hanging around the place since Saturday, when Nana Akufo-Addo was installed as president of the republic.

The Tema Police command is reportedly in the know of the development and are working to restore normalcy. Meanwhile, some supporters of the party in Tamale in the Northern region have also locked up some offices of the Youth Enterprise Agency.

There were nationwide reports of a takeover of state facilities by members of the NPP the party won the December 2016 elections but such conducts have simmer down after the President ordered for calm.
