NPP Supporters Besiege Court Premises

Hundreds of supporters belonging to the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) have massed up at an Accra Fast Track Court where embattled Assin North Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong, is currently being tried.

Clad in black with red bands adorning their arms and wrists, the irate party faithfuls are reported to be chanting war songs and demanding his immediate release.

According to PeaceFM’s Yaw Obeng Manu and OkayFM’s Kwame Frimpong, who are at the court premises, there is heavy police presence at the court to maintain law and order. He adds that the police have set up a barricade at the main entrance to the Supreme Court building to prevent the supporters from gaining access to the court premises.
