NPP still enjoys the goodwill of rank and file of opposition parties –

Botwe

Ho, June 16, GNA – Mr Dan Botwe, New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary at the weekend said the Party still had the goodwill of the rank and file of the parties that supported it during the Presidential runoff in 2000.

He said indications of the top hierarchy of these parties coming together against the NPP as demonstrated by joint press-conferences, could not be a reflection of the sentiments of their members and supporters.

Mr Botwe said this during an interaction with Journalists in Ho at the weekend.

He said the NPP cherished the statements of support by the People’s National Convention (PNC), Convention People’s Party (CPP) and the Great Consolidated People’s Party (GCPP) at the time but had never been under the illusion that such support would be forever.

“That support was at their own freewill, which could be withdrawn at anytime. There were no mergers but I don’t see the parties as ganging up against us now” the General Secretary stated.

He said most of the Concerns of the parties could be handled at inter-party committee talks. Mr Botwe is currently visiting constituencies in the Northern Sector of the Volta Region.
