NPP stalwart dies

Boabeng (B/A), Jan. 6, GNA – Mr. Daniel Kwaku Akowuah, Nkoranza North Constituency Secretary of New Patriotic Party (NPP) died at the weekend at Saint Theresa’s Hospital in Nkoranza after a short illness.

He was 70 years and left behind a wife and 14 children. The body of the late Akowuah is being kept at the Kintampo Government Hospital mortuary pending burial and final funeral rites on Saturday, January 21.

He was one of the opinion leaders and elders who spearheaded the establishment of the Boabeng-Fiema Monkey sanctuary, a popular tourist attraction in Brong-Ahafo.

The deceased was a member of the campaign team of Mr. Eric Amoateng, Member of Parliament-elect for the area.

Mr. Abdulai Yaw Adu, NPP Constituency Chairman said the death of Mr. Akowuah was a big blow to the party as he effectively and tirelessly helped to conduct the campaign which led to the victory of Mr. Amoateng.

Mr. Isaac Kwaku Antwi, a family member and nephew of the late Akowuah described the uncle as a very sympathetic and accommodating person who was always ready to help people to overcome their problems.
