NPP solidly supports Ayisi Boateng’s comments – Wontumi

Ashanti Regional Chairman for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has said the party fully identifies with comments by Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa that NPP members are more Ghanaian than others.

According to Bernard Antwi Boasiako, the comments represent position of the NPP.

Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Wontumi was speaking to host of Abusua Nkommo, Kwame Adinkra in reaction to ongoing discussions about utterances by the NPP stalwart that some Ghanaians are important than others.

Ayisi Boateng at an interactive session of the party’s intellectual wing, TESCON of the Kumasi Technical University said his priority will be “to empower NPP members because some Ghanaians are more important than others.”

But Chairman Wontumi says Ayisi Boateng is right with his claims adding, “We will support him any day.”

He explains, “Kwame, we support anything Onipanua has said because it’s the truth.”

“Our party people suffered and laboured to bring the party to power and we can’t ignore their contributions to the party’s success.”

“NPP members are also Ghanaians and so Ayisi Boateng’s comments are in order.”

Wontumi adds, “If there’s any opportunity, we will make sure our party people are given priority and if there is any extra chance after taking care of our people, we can then give it to the people.”
