NPP should be responsible in opposition – Ade Coker

Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Joseph Ade Coker has asked opposition parties in the country to make effective criticism that can bring growth and development to the country.

This follows the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) assertion that President John Dramani Mahama’s appointment of Mr Ben Dotse Malor is not significant.

According to them, the appointment of Mr Malor as the Senior Communications Adviser and Head of Communications at the Presidency is just going to be another cost on the Ghanaian taxpayer.

Mr. Ade Coker bemoaned that instead of the opposition offering the government in power with suggestions that will help in nation building; they rather concentrate on insulting and lambasting the incumbent government no matter what they do.

“When we criticize we don’t give alternatives. Opposition should be responsible and rather help government to develop the country… when we were in opposition, we were responsible. They must make criticisms that will make the country move forward” he intimated on ‘Kokrokoo’ programme.

Commenting on the appointment of Mr. Malor, Ade Coker said the former BBC presenter is a Ghanaian and moreover, “he is very competent and so instead of criticizing his appointment we should look forward to what he is going to add”
