NPP sacks communicator over School Feeding brouhaha

The power struggle within the Ghana School Feeding Programme in the Northern appears not to be inching to a close as fresh troubles have emerged barely a week after officials were in the region to resolve the impasse.

Latest information picked up by mynewsgh.com indicate that a staunch supporter of the Minister of Gender and Social Protection, Madam Otiko Afisa Djaba has been suspended by the party’s hierarchy for engaging in what leaders described as illegality.

Yusuf Danjumah it has been confirmed, was suspended by the Northern Regional Communication Directorate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for taking sides in the school feeding program brouhaha in the region.

His suspension came after he was invited to meet a committee set up to find out why he took it upon himself to organize a meeting of communicators without informing the communication directorate.

The meeting, which was expected to find a lasting solution to the impasse that surrounds the school feeding program in the region was organized by Yusuf Danjumah.

The impasse, it would be recalled, resulted in the locking up of the office of the Northern Regional School Feeding Program by a NPP vigilante group in the region.

According to him, his relationship with the minister has come a long way that he could not fold his arms and allow her delegation to suffer in the region.

The acting communication director of the NPP in the region, Issahaq A. Lateef confirmed his suspension in an interview with Tamale-based Diamond FM during its afternoon political talkshow dubbed Siasa Saha.

But in a reaction, the suspension member said he was not treated fairly. “I am surprised about this”.
