NPP rocks Cape Coast

Thousands of New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters in the Cape Coast South Constituency of the Central Region Sunday participated in the ‘Boys Abre, Girls Rekasa’ Keep-Fit exercise organised by the constituency executives of the party.

The five-hour keep-fit exercise, which started around 6:00 am and ended at 10:00 am, was expected to be held in all the constituencies around the coastal areas of the region.

The enthusiastic supporters, clad in their party colours amidst drumming and dancing, marched through the principal streets of Cape Coast from Mfantsipim junction and ended at the Jubilee Park.

Addressing the crowd, the Cape Coast South Chairman of the party, Ernest Arthur, pointed out that the teeming crowd was even an indication that the NPP was ready to capture power from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Government in the 2016 general elections.

Mr. Arthur emphasized the need for supporters of the party to campaign massively and sell its policies and vision to Ghanaians to enable them vote for it in the upcoming elections.

He noted that the statement by Ghanaians that the economy is in crises was true hence, the theme for the Keep-Fit exercise.

The chairman stated that, “the country is sick and needs a doctor who can prescribe a medication for it, and that doctor is the NPP.”

“It is an open secret that things are hard and that President John Dramani Mahama should not run away from the reality – high fuel prices, a situation whereby parents cannot pay for their children’s school fees as well as all other social interventions which are collapsing,” he added.

DAILY GUIDE observed some NDC supporters who claimed to have defected from the party, participating in the exercise.

In attendance were the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese (AAK) Constituency chairman, Elvis Morris Donkor; Assin South Chairman, Ambrose; former Cape Coast South Parliamentary candidate, Alfred Thompson; Chairman of the Regional Disciplinary Committee, Arthur Dadzie; among other big wigs of the party.
