NPP Risks Being Isolated From The World – Ablakwa

A Deputy Information Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has stated that the actions and stance adopted by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) following the declaration of the December 7 results, is further “isolating itself [the party] both locally and internationally.”

According to him, it will be in the best interest of the NPP and its supporters, if the leadership of the party concedes defeat.

“After Sunday’s declaration, all candidates, PNC, Parliamentary candidates, PPP, Independent candidates, they are all conceding and calling the President and we are forging ahead as one country. All polling agents have signed and certified the results; only the New Patriotic Party leadership is engaged in these acts.”

Speaking on Citi FM on Tuesday, Mr. Ablakwa accused the NPP of perpetrating acts of violence and attacking the supporters of the NDC resulting in the death of two persons.

He said: “We have seen the unwarranted attacks on innocent civilians. People are being beaten, this afternoon at circle we received many distress calls from our supporters running for their lives. As I speak to you now, some of them have been hospitalized; there are at least two people who have been stabbed and killed.”

The MP elect for the North Tongu Constituency added that the congratulatory messages the President has received from African and world leaders was indicative of a free and fair election process which was closely monitored.
