NPP Regional Organiser?s House Bombed

A bomb exploded in the house of the NPP Volta Regional Organiser, Johnson Avuletey in the early hours of Tuesday. Eyewitnesses say three bottles containing a mixture of kerosene and diesel were planted behind the bedroom of the regional organizer. One of them exploded, burning portions of a wooden window and the nylon net.

There has been confusion at the Volta Regional office of the NPP over the election of executives of the Ho Central constituency, which has led to the suspension of the regional secretary of the party.

The first election was annulled by the Acting Regional Chairman of the party, Kenwood Nuworsor, who described it as illegal. A second election was contested at the court and dismissed. According to JOY FM’s correspondent in the region, Afua Djansi Asamoah, the explosion has caused a stir among the leadership of the party in the region. Some of them are blaming the act on members of the Ho Central constituency branch of the party.
