NPP ready to take over – Kufuor

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is ready to take over the reins of power from the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) and steer it once more to the height of development and prosperity, former President John Agyekum Kufuor has said.

Speaking at the party’s 2016 manifesto launch in Accra on Sunday October 9, the former president said the NPP was not seeking power for its sake but rather for the good and inclusive governance of the country.

“We are determined and ready to take over the reins of government of Ghana and steer it once more to the height of development and prosperity as we once did. Indeed, our mission this time will be to accelerate the nation’s development into the mainstream of developed countries of the world on sustainable basis,” he stated.

Mr Kufuor added that the NPP manifesto reaffirms the party’s vision, mission and commitment to uphold the rule of law, human rights and economic prosperity and social advancement for all Ghanaians through accountable and efficient good governance.
