NPP parliamentary candidate withdraws from contest in protest

Jukwa-Frame (C/R), July 29, GNA – The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has endorsed the Reverend Ben Donkor, Presiding Member of the Twifo-Heman-Lower-Denkyira District Assembly, to contest Election 2004 as the party’s candidate.

This followed the withdrawal of Mr Lawrence Kwabena Agyensem, the other contestant, in protest.

Mr Agyensem, Branch Manager of the Unique Trust Financial Services, at Kumasi, had accused the Constituency Executives of bias, alleging that they were openly campaigning for the other contestant. He said the Executives failed to provide him with the photo album and the list of delegates to enable him to carry out an effective campaign.

In an interview with the GNA the Constituency Chairman, Mr Appiah Kubi, denied the allegations.
