NPP Parliamentarians not automatic delegates

Accra, Nov. 30, GNA – The general secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Ohene Ntow on Friday emphasised that Parliamentarians of the party were not automatic delegates to the party’s congress to elect a presidential candidate of party.

“The position is that although MPs are not Constituency officers, they could become delegates, as part of the six non-officers the Constituency would be electing,” he said.

“This would, however, depend entirely on whether their various constituencies elect them as non-officer delegates.”

Nana Ohene Ntow denied that the National Secretariat of the Party had issued directives that all Members of Parliament of the party were automatic delegates to December 22 Congress.

“I hereby state categorically that no such directive has been issued by the Party,” he said.
