NPP on Betty Mould’s resignation

Sunyani (B/A), Jan. 24, GNA – The New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Tuesday said the resignation of the Education Minister “is an indication that Mrs. Betty Mould Iddrisu is not in any position to compromise her integrity with the government”.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani, Mr Alfred Ofori Annye, Brong-Ahafo Regional Secretary, said the party was expecting similar resignations from Dr. Kwabena Duffour, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning and Mr Henry Martey Newman, Chief of Staff.

He alleged that the “rot” within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had dented the image of the government, especially to the international community”.

He said the firing of Mr Martin Amidu, as Attorney General and Minister of Justice “is a calculated attempt by the government to condone corruption”.

Mr Annye said the NDC had failed Ghanaians and called on other Ministers of state to also resign their positions in order not to expose themselves to public ridicule.
