NPP nearly promised ‘one-man, one-wife’; can’t deliver on promises – MP

A member of parliament for Kumbungu in the Northern Region, Ras Mubarak says the Akufo-Addo government will not be able to achieve the numerous campaign promises made to Ghanaians in the run up to the 2016 general elections.

According to him, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his party made so many promises to the extent that they nearly promised ‘one-man, one-wife’ during the electioneering period.

He claimed those promises the call explained that the then opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) hauled several promises to Ghanaians which compelled them to vote for the NPP but most of them are not achievable in the next four years.

“The NPP should come and apologize to Ghanaians on where they cannot perform because the NPP nearly promised one-man-one wife”, the MP told Ghana Dadwene on Onua FM on Wednesday. Ras Mubarak said notwithstanding the sweet promises by the NPP, the Akufo-Addo government is currently “wobbling”.

He said though change is good because it helps one to see the difference, from how things are going the NPP cannot deliver on those promises.

“They can’t construct factories in all the districts. They can’t construct dams in all the districts [every village] in the three northern regions so they should start apologizing”.

He added: “if they will do it, it will help all of us but we know they cannot do it and they should apologize to Ghanaians so that we can forgive them”.
