NPP must seriously deal with non-akan tag – Ohene Ntow

The former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Ohene Ntow, has cautioned his party not to out-rightly dispel rumours of factionalism in the party.

According to him, the party leaders need to discuss the issue thoroughly.

His comments come a day after former Attorney General, Ayikoi Otoo, stated that non-akans in the NPP feel ostracised and sidelined in the party.

He said the Party’s non-Akan constituency feel they “don’t belong” in the NPP and has therefore advised the party to shed off the widely held perception that it is a party for Akans.

Speaking on the sidelines of the official launch of Kwabena Agyepong’s bid to contest the general secretary position in the upcoming NPP Congress; Nana Ohene Ntow stated that the party must strongly deal with the issue.

Mr. Ohene Ntow also explained that Kwabena Agyepong is the best candidate for the NPP general secretary post and called on executives of the party to vote him into office.
