NPP MP Threatens Naked Demo Over Alleged Assault On Ursula

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for the Oforikrom constituency in the Ashanti region, Elizabeth Agyemang, has expressed anger at the alleged attack on fellow female party colleague Ursula Owusu in the Odododiodoo constituency in Accra.

She has therefore threatened to lead a naked demonstration if the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) attacks any female NPP member again.

She told XYZ News the attack on her colleague was unwarranted and unnecessary.

The Ablekuma South Parliamentary candidate of the party was assaulted by alleged machomen three days ago as she went about rallying people to register in the ongoing biometric registration exercise.

In an interview with XYZ News’ Ashanti regional correspondent Isaac Bediako Justice, Hon. Elizabeth Agyemang expressed utter dismay at the occurrence, stating that this can have a rippling effect ahead of the 2012 General Election.

“It’s a shame and it’s not good for our democracy… why should somebody go and beat her up just because she is not from that constituency. It is not proper.”

She said nobody deserved be attacked like that and that if ever happens to any woman in this country “we are going to go out naked in this country and fight.”
