NPP members urged to reconcile for unity

Mr Mahami Salifu, former Upper East Regional Minister, on Friday called on members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to embrace reconciliation since it was the way to reunite the party.

Mr Salifu said that would help the party members to bury their differences and stand as one on stronger grounds for victory in 2016.

He said there was no time to settle personal scores, because the party was a big family and each member must contribute towards the work to achieve one common goal.

Mr Salifu made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Zebilla Constituency in the Bawku West District of the Upper East Region after the party’s congress.

He said reconciliation could bring about unity for the party to create a peaceful environment that would allow others to join for greater numbers.

Mr Salifu stressed the need to sustain peace in the party because it was the only way that would lead the party back to power.

He called on the party members to support the presidential candidate to win victory in the upcoming general elections in 2016.

Mr Frank Fuseini, former NPP parliamentary candidate for the Zebilla Constituency, pledged his support to develop the youth if given the chance to stand on the ticket for the parliamentary election.

He said he was going to assist his government to revamp the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) which he claimed the NDC had mishandled for the past years.

He said he would improve on the poor road network in his constituency which had slowed down the socio-economic activities.

He promised to create jobs through the Rural Enterprising Project by training more of the youth through the project to acquire employable skills that could fetch them money to improve on their livelihood.

He called on party supporters to remain calm and support the chosen candidate who would lead the party to victory in 2016.
