NPP member to contest Navrongo seat as Independent

Navrongo (UE/R), July 19, GNA – Mr Donald Amuah, a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has declared his intention to contest the Navrongo Central Parliamentary Seat as an independent candidate for the 2004 polls.

Mr Abdallah Otito Achuliwor, a younger brother of the late Member of Parliament, Mr John Setuni Achuliwor, has also declared his desire to contest the parliamentary slot as an independent candidate. Mr Amuah, 53, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA), in Navrongo that he decided to go independent against the incumbent MP Mr Joseph Kofi Adda, who is seeking re-election.

He explained that his efforts to contest last year’s bye-election were frustrated.

Mr Amuah said he was confident of winning since he enjoys the support of majority of the constituents.
