NPP Man Killed At Fadama

A member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sheriff Mohamed, has been stabbed to death following an attack by some two men suspected to be political opponents at Fadama.

The 25-year-old business administration graduate from the Islamic University met his untimely death on Easter Sunday at about 11:00pm when he was suddenly attacked by two men on a motorbike who demanded he give them a Samsung mobile phone in his possession.

The Kaneshie District Police Commander, C/Supt. Fleance Senam Adikah, told the media that the victim lived about 100 metres away from the incident scene.

On that fateful night, he was on his way to buy a cup of tea close to the residence of the National Chief Imam when his assailants, two young men using an unregistered motorbike, sought to collect his mobile phone but the victim resisted.

The unidentified assassins, according to the police boss, got furious when he refused to let go of a mobile phone in his possession and inflicted wounds on his shoulders and palms.

After the gory act, the two left without taking the phone they allegedly asked for.

The victim was rushed to the Lapaz Community Hospital where he was referred to the Korle-Bu Hospital.

He was however pronounced dead on arrival.

Police said they suspected foul play, particularly because the assailants, at the end of the event, never picked anything after they overpowered their victim.

Sheriff Mohamed was born in 1987. Until his timely death, he had been the Okaikoi North NPP Constituency Secretary at their Fadama office.

Upon his successful completion of the Islamic University in 2009, he was employed by the Electricity Company of Ghana just three weeks ago. He has been described by close associates and relations as an unassuming person.
