NPP lied to win Yagaba-Kubori seat – Chairman of Pilgrims Affairs

The Chairman of the Pilgrims Affairs, Alhaji Abdul Rauf Tanko Ibrahim has alleged that the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) went on a lying spree for which reason it succeeded in unseating him as Member of Parliament (MP) for Yagaba-Kubori constituency in the Northern region.

He observed that constituents have now come to the realization that they were deceived by the NPP’s Candidate Mustapha Ussif who took to peddling all manner of falsehood but after being given the nod has failed to prove his worth.

Addressing supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during his campaign launch, he stated that the incumbent MP will be consumed by his own actions at the December 7 polls as constituents have been able to decode what he actually used in winning the seat.unity-walk-banner2

According to the NDC candidate, since assuming the seat as the first legislator for the constituency, he has developed the area better than the incumbent and also went about his campaigns devoid of lies and tribal sentiments.

“One of the responsibilities of a Member of Parliament is to lobby for projects and during my tenure I lobbied for major projects that solved some of the problems of our people.”

“I lobbied for a senior high-technical school with modern facilities and also lobbied for the area’s district status and ensured the place has electricity.”

“Tribal politics has always been the case and in my case they say I am a Hausa and I swear by almighty Allah there is nobody who has developed this area than me and they claim I am a Hausa. That my father is a Hausa and my mother is a Mamprusi. I have spent more of my life in Mamprugu than Bawumia himself and I have built infrastructure in Mamprugu land than Bawumia.”

He observed that the signs are clear that he will win the election but urged the electorate to consolidate his victory by massively voting for him and John Dramani Mahama on Election Day.

“It is clear that President John Mahama will win the election and it is good I am there to lobby for more development projects for the area.”

He cited youth employment, agriculture, education, health and micro finance credit for petty traders as topmost on his transformational agenda should he emerge victorious at the polls.
