NPP-Italy. to hold Delegates Conference

The New Patriotic Party’s wing in Italy will hold Branch delegates conference at Modena, northern part of Italy, on the 8th of February 2014 as part of the directives given by NPP-Ghana for all diaspora branches to elect new executives for the next four years. This conference will attract Kukrudians from across all the 20 regions in Italy-from Palermo to Pordenone.
Under the theme: “UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL”, The NPP-Italy purported to have been broken in factions will seek to redress all differences and bring everyone on board. This election will be conducted under a five-member Electoral Committee chaired by Mr. Alexander Annan of Vicenza. The Committee is guided by axiomatic rules and regulations approved and adopted by a General Assembly of NPP-Italy at Castelfranco-Veneto on the 11th of January, 2014.
As many as 12 applicants have filed nominations to contest branch executive positions from different chapters. Per the approved Electoral Rules and Regulations, the positions to be contested for are: Chairman, 1st Vice Chairman (the runner up of the1st vice becomes 2nd vice), Secretary, Organiser, Women Organiser and Youth Organiser. Apart from the position of Youth Organiser which attracted unopposed candidate, all the other positions are keenly contested for.
Interestingly, three candidates including the acting Chairman are vying for chairmanship position whilst the rest of the positions-1st Vice Chairman, Secretary, Organiser, Women Organiser attracted two candidates each.
