NPP is working its way out of power – Abuga

Tamale, April 20, GNA – Mr Abuga Pele, the MP for Chiana/Paga, has said the economic hardship the government had inflicted on the country was a way of working its way out of power in the 2008 elections. “Its refusal to acknowledge the economic hardships and valiantly trying to use propaganda to make Ghanaians believe otherwise is further worsening the situation”.

Mr Pele was speaking at meetings with the people of Chaania, Sakaa, Kandiga and Kayoro-Akania, all in the constituency, at the weekend to thank them for electing him as their MP for the third time.

He said “A government that does not sympathize with its people is easily voted out of power by the same masses. The recent increases in petroleum products is a manifestation of an insensitive government.” Mr Pele said the NDC had learnt lessons in opposition and would no more repeat mistakes that led to the party’s defeat in 2000 and 2004. “NPP has only come to amass wealth and not to seek the welfare of the ordinary Ghanaian”.

The MP said the poverty situation in the country had worsened under the NPP government and advised the people to just say “No” to them in any elections.

Mr Pele called on NDC sympathizers to start the process that would show the NPP “the exit” in 2008.
