NPP introduces candidate for Odododiodoo

Accra, Aug 13, GNA – Mr Lennox Kojo Mankattah, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate for the Odododiodoo Parliamentary bye-election on Friday, called on residents in the area to vote massively for the NPP to enable him to continue with the projects that his late father initiated.

“If you voted for my father in the 2004 elections because you like him then do likewise for his son to continue with his good works,” he stated. Mr Kojo Man kattah who is also known as Asafoatse Mankattah made the call when he was introduced at a rally at Bukom Square in Accra flanked by Sheikh Ibrahim Cudjoe Quaye, Greater Accra Regional Minister, Dr Nii Ayi Hammond, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Mr Lord Commey, National Organiser and other stalwarts of the NPP.

Ministers of state and other Party functionaries addressed the rally, which attracted large number of supporters dressed in NPP colours.

Mr Kojo Mankattah called on the electorate to put their differences aside and forge ahead in unity for the progress and development of the constituency.

Dr Nyaho Tamakloe, a Leading Member of the NPP, cautioned the National Democratic Congress (NDC) against acts that could mar the bye election.

He said NPP top officials would serve as the polling agents to ensure that the NDC did cheat and urged NPP supporters to turn-up in their numbers to cast their votes for the party to win massively. Mr Nii Ayi Bonte, former MP for the area, urged the people to vote for Asafoatse Mankattah since he would be in a good position to facilitate the development of the constituency.

He said the government could work more with the NPP candidate than an opposition candidate who would find it difficult to approach certain institutions for support.

Other speakers at the rally included Mr. Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, Minister of Tourism and Modernisation of the Capital City, Mr Allan Kyeremanteng, Minister of Trade and Industry, Nana Akuffo Addo, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Professor Mike Ocquaye, Minister of Energy.
