NPP holds crunch meeting today over recent disturbances

The Steering Committee of the main opposition New Patriotic Party meets today over recent disturbances in the party.

The meeting follows the thuggery of a gang of hoodlums at the party’s headquarters almost a week ago, following disagreements over a few administrative changes, which General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong and Chairman Paul Afoko, tried effecting at the Communications Directorate.

The intervention of the Council of Elders and the Steering Committee eventually calmed the storm.

Monday’s meeting by the Steering Committee aims to cement earlier directives issued by the party’s leadership to forestall further infighting.

The National Executive Committee and National Council of the party are also expected to meet after Monday’s Steering Committee meeting.
