Some leading members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) held a crisis meeting to dissociate the party from the arrested MP.
Some members were of the opinion that owing to the disgrace that the news will bring to the party, it will be in the NPP?s interest to completely disown Eric Amoateng and make him face the full consequences of his actions.
Others said it would be dangerous to disown him because there could be some people in the administration involved in such acts who could be mentioned by the MP.
