The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has accused the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of inciting its supporters against the judiciary through the party’s request of a live telecast of proceedings of its case against the Electoral Commission.
According to the NDC chief scribe, the NPP is aware its charge of electoral fraud against the Electoral Commission cannot stand the test of time, hence the attempt to psyche NPP supporters to reject the ruling.
Mr Asiedu Nketia made the claims when he addressed journalist in Accra.
“Now they have started questioning the credibility of the Supreme Court that is why they are demanding video cameras on the Supreme Court sittings and so on. Since when did this happen?”
“This evidence they are talking about cannot stand a test of any proceedings anywhere so they know it would be thrown away. So they are already preparing the minds of their supporters that if it is thrown out then it means that NDC has done something also at the Supreme Court,” he said.
He said the NPP should look within to solve their internal problems instead of putting the blame of their defeat on the EC and the NDC.
Meanwhile, the convener of the Forum for Governance and Justice has also described as disappointing the claims by the NPP that over 1.3million votes were rigged for President Mahama.
Dr. Clement Apaak told XYZ News, the claims by the NPP are confusing. He wonders why the party decided to put in the public domain its evidence instead of waiting for those evidences to be scrutinized in court.
