NPP has right to ask Ghanaians to renew its mandate

Dormaa-Ahenkro, (B/A), Nov. 26, GNA -A Deputy Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Mr Yaw Agyemang Manu has stressed that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has every right to ask Ghanaians to renew its mandate for the next four years, taking into account the giant strides it has made to improve the lives of the people.

Mr Agyemang Manu said the only means Ghanaians can express their appreciation for the singular performance of President Kufuor and his versatile team is to vote massively for them to enable them to continue with the enviable performance.

Touching on finance, the Deputy Minister explained that, where as Ghana’s foreign reserves as at January 2001, under the previous government could subsist the nation for only eight days, the reserves under the NPP for just four years could suffice for at least four months.

Mr Agyemang Manu was speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Dormaa, after he had participated in the commissioning of two school building projects valued at 660 million cedis for Asikasu and Masu Local Primary Schools near Dormaa Ahenkro.

He emphasized that the economy has made tremendous gains with cocoa production reaching record levels and inflation, which scared in triple digits several years ago, was dropping steadily.

The Deputy Minister announced that government’s policy on the National Health Insurance was on course and that Ghanaians would soon begin to realize the full benefits of their shared responsibility. He expressed optimism that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would win the December polls hands down. 26 Nov. 04
