The General Secretary of the NDC, Dr Josiah Aryeh, has stated that the NPP has demonstrated in its three and half years in office that it cannot deliver on the promises the party made to the people.
He said Ghanaians were fed up with the bad economic policies of the government and could no longer continue to live in a hardship situation, saying that God had even seen the suffering of the people and, therefore, would redeem them from the hands of the NPP in the forthcoming elections.
Dr Aryeh, who was addressing supporters of the NDC in Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region, alleged that for the three and half years that the NPP had been in power, it had discriminated against the people of the three northern regions, especially in ministerial appointments, saying that the government had done what he termed a ?token selection? in its appointment.
He said the leadership of the NDC would not relent in ensuring that NPP government dispensed justice to the people of Ghana.He explained that it was when no section of the population was discriminated against and the people enjoyed absolute peace and security that democracy would be seen to be practised in the country.
He gave the assurance that after the NDC had won the elections in December, the party would formulate pragmatic policies and programmes that would salvage the economy and also bring the people together as a nation, without discriminating against any ethnic group.
Dr Aryeh, however, urged the NDC supporters to work hard in order to emerge victorious, since it was only through proper organisation and mobilisation of the people that the party would achieve its goal of wresting back political power.
Mr Kofi Kportufe, a member of the NDC campaign team, said the NDC was now more democratic and that it would hold primaries to choose parliamentary candidates in all the constituencies.Mr Kportufe urged the supporters to send out positive and convincing messages to the people in their campaigns and also respect members of other parties.
The National Women?s Organiser, Madam Francisca Essiam, appealed to the youth and women in the NDC to establish good human relations with their neighbours and explain to them why they should vote the NDC back to power. Madam Hilda Ndor Salifu, popularly called Madam Bolco, the First National Vice-Chairperson of the NDC, said the NPP had nothing good to offer the country, since the people continue to suffer in poverty.
