Gomoa Abrekum (C/R), March 5, GNA – The Gomoa West District Chief Executive, Mr Theophilus Aidoo-Mensah, has appealed to Ghanaians not to take the vile propaganda of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) seriously.
Addressing a meeting of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters at Gomoa Abrekum near Apam, Mr Aidoo-Mensah said because the NPP had no good campaign message the party had decided to go to radio stations with propaganda on President John Atta Mills.
He said the NPP had held on to Mr Alfred Agbesi Woyome’s judgment debt issue and urged the NPP to tell Ghanaians what they would be able to do for them when voted into power.
On NPP’s promise to make Senior High School education free, Mr Aidoo-Mensah said “this is not achievable in our economic situation,” and added that even the free basic education was saddles with many problems including inadequate school infrastructure, lack of textbooks, stationery, furniture and teaching and learning materials.
“How can the NPP pay fees for the increasing number of students in SHS and provide them with free meals, books and stationery?” he asked, and that Ghanaians wanted quality education for their children and not anything mediocre.
Mr Aidoo-Mensah urged Ghanaians to compare what the NPP had achieved in their communities for the eight years they were been in office with what the NDC had done for them in the three years before they cast their vote.
He appealed to NDC supporters to register in their numbers when the biometric registration exercise takes off on March 24.
He presented a motorbike to Mr David Donkor, a driver of Apam St Luke’s Catholic Hospital, for his dedication to the party.
