NPP group alleges vote rigging attempt

The Western Regional branch of the Nana Addo for President 2012 (NOFP) on Monday alleged that some people are clandestinely replicating biometric voter ID cards of unsuspecting people.

Mr. Sampson Nimako Darko, Regional Coordinator of NOFP, announced this at a media encounter at Takoradi on Monday.

The Ghana News Agency observed that Mr Darko displayed photocopy of some of the Voter ID Cards produced at Darkokrom, a suburb of Kojokrom, near Takoradi.

Mr. Darko said the case has been reported to the Western Regional Police Command, which gave the assurance that the Police would work with the Electoral Commission (EC) to investigate the matter for the appropriate action to be taken.

He called on the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as well as other opposition political parties to join hands and demand from the EC detailed voter’s register with photographs and other details of bearers to prevent rigging of election 2012.

Mr. Darko appealed to the EC to educate the electorate on election modalities and to remain neutral in the discharge of its duties.
