NPP greets Muslims on Eid Ul-Adha

Accra, Jan. 19, GNA – The New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Wednesday commended Muslims on the celebration of Eid-Ul-Adha, the Muslim Festival of Sacrifice and urged Ghanaians to promote its lofty ideals. A statement signed by Mr Harona Esseku, National Chairman, noted that the occasion was devoted to sacrifices and prayers for peace and forgiveness.

“It is the hope of the NPP that Muslims would translate those noble aims into deeds for the benefit of all the people of Ghana.” The NPP said the country had enjoyed relative peace in the past few years regardless of occasional threats and provocations and it was the wish of all that the prayers to be said by Muslims on Thursday would further help perpetuate the existing serene atmosphere.

“The Party and all people of goodwill certainly recognise the fact that nation-building could only proceed in an atmosphere of peace, stability and brotherliness….”
