NPP Gov’t Will Support Exceptional Students ? UK Envoy

H.E. Mr. Isaac Osei, Ghana?s Envoy to the United Kingdom has stressed that the government of the New Patriotic Party would support exceptional students to further their education in institutions of higher learning.

He said the government?s stance stemmed out of its conviction that such brilliant students could be valuable assets to national reconstruction effort and the on-going economic and social transformation taking place in the country.

Speaking to 22 Ghanaian postgraduates, who yesterday graduated from the London School of Economics (LSE) after the presentation ceremony at which they received Masters degrees in various fields, Mr. Osei urged them and all Ghanaian students who have completed their studies abroad, to consider re-locating to Ghana to help in realising the noble goals of Positive Change Chapter 2.

He said the new Ghana, under the able leadership of His Excellency President John Agyekum Kufuor has varied opportunities for all categories of professionals and added that it would amount to injustice for them to look elsewhere for employment to the detriment of the country and urged them to contact the Mission?s Recruitment Section.

He said many of them had graduated in Social Policy and Information Technology and the knowledge and skills acquired had to be applied for the benefit of Ghana.

The students include Abyna Ansaa Adjei, Ama Pokua Biritwum, Akosua Yeboa Boateng, Daniel Arthur, Maame Ama Gyeduaah Djan, Wilhelmina Ewurafua Longdon, June Kobi Jordah, Daniel Wilberforce, Eric Missah and Bridget Sefakor Lassey .

On behalf of the graduates, Ms. Abyna-Ansaa Adjei, author of ?Otumfuo Osei Tutu 11: King of Gold? thanked the High Commissioner for finding time to grace the award ceremony despite his tight schedule and assured him of the determination of the group to be part of the solution to the nation?s problems.
