NPP General Secretary Petitions Disciplinary Committee Over Abronye DC’s Alleged Misconduct

The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, has officially petitioned the party’s national disciplinary committee to probe alleged acts of misconduct by the Bono Regional Chairman, Kwame Baffoe, widely known as Abronye DC.

In a statement dated Tuesday, September 30, Mr. Frimpong outlined concerns including defamatory remarks directed at flagbearer hopeful Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, unfounded accusations against himself, and the misrepresentation of committee findings.

He described Abronye’s alleged actions as unbecoming of a senior party figure, stressing that such conduct undermines the unity, reputation, and integrity of the NPP.

Mr. Frimpong noted that Abronye allegedly launched personal attacks on Hon. Agyapong, claiming at one point that “even the elephant has more wisdom than Hon. Agyapong.” He further accused the regional chairman of spreading falsehoods that the General Secretary had concealed a report recommending the expulsion of the Assin Central MP.

The petition also claims that Abronye misrepresented the contents of a disciplinary committee report by suggesting it listed multiple offences against Hon. Agyapong. Mr. Frimpong argued that such behaviour not only breaches confidentiality but also damages the authority of the committee and the broader image of the party.

He is therefore urging the disciplinary committee to conduct an impartial inquiry and apply the necessary sanctions in accordance with the NPP’s constitution, maintaining that Abronye’s conduct amounts to defamation, misconduct, and gross indiscipline.
