NPP donates laptop computer to Western Region GJA

Takoradi, Sept. 5, GNA – The Western Region office of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Tuesday presented a laptop computer and a printer to the regional branch of the Ghana Journalists’ Association at Takoradi.

The donation, valued at GH=A22,000, was in response to an appeal made by the Association for tools to equip the regional Press centre. Presenting the laptop at the Press Centre, Nana Owusu Ankomah, regional chairman of the NPP, said the media was a vital stakeholder in the democratic development of the country and that their donation was only aimed at assisting them to perform better.

He pledged the Party’s support for media pluralism and stressed that they would continue to assist the media and promote freedom of the press.

Nana Ankomah said the NPP would not impose any presidential aspirants on delegates and that they would be allowed to choose their own leaders for the 2008 general election.

He appealed to delegates to choose a leader who could unify the Party and make it stronger. Mr. Kojo Acquah, Regional Organiser of the Party, said the NPP would win all the seats in the region next year. 05 Sep. 07
